Camelot High

King Arthur is a high school teen with high school problems and lifetime ahead.

I finished my first draft of this novel early in 2014. It was really an impromptu project and I didn’t give it much thought before beginning it, although I had wanted to write a High School version of Arthurian legends for some time.
This is the first book of a trilogy following Arthur Penn-Drake through his early years. As it follows traditional Arthurian legend to some extent, it is not a pretty story, or at least this part isn’t. Told through Arthur’s journals, the story less about him and more about his relationships with his family, friends, and the outside world.
Many classic characters appear including King Arthur, Morgan le Fay, the Lady of the Lake, Sir Lancelot, Sir Gawain, and the Lady Elaine, though all chewed up and thrown into a rural high school setting.
Meg Cabot’s Avalon High is a similar story (but somewhat lighter, I think), if you are interested in this.
